Feroot Security Research Reveals DeepSeek AI’s Hidden Data Pipeline to China

ABC Good Morning America featured an exclusive report this morning highlighting Feroot’s discovery of concerning code within DeepSeek’s AI platform. Feroot, a leading cybersecurity firm, uncovered hidden capabilities enabling direct data transmission from DeepSeek to China Mobile servers.

Ivan Tsarynny, Feroot’s cybersecurity expert, demonstrated how DeepSeek’s code contains explicit references for sending data to servers controlled by China Mobile – a state-owned telecommunications company previously sanctioned in the U.S. over national security concerns.

“We see direct links to servers and companies in China that are under control of the Chinese government. This is something we’ve never seen before,” Tsarynny explained during the ABC interview.

While DeepSeek acknowledges data transmission to China, the implications are significant given the platform processes sensitive information including confidential documents, business data, and personal information through its AI tools.

Multiple cybersecurity experts verified Feroot’s analysis in the ABC report. In response, lawmakers are calling for immediate action, including proposals to ban DeepSeek on government devices.

DeepSeek did not respond to ABC News’ request for comment.
